The case for Blue Monday being made a public holiday.
With news that David Cameron is planning to scrap the May Day bank holiday should we consider making ‘Blue Monday’ – the third Monday in January – a public holiday instead.
Imagine a day promoting better mental well-being and providing quality time to reflect on what’s good about life despite the circumstances adding up to the symbolically most depressing day of the year.
A public holiday on Blue Monday would probably achieve most social good out of all the options being considered.
So what about it? Should Blue Monday be made a public holiday?
