Sorry excuse, the ‘for’ in that last bit - that sounded awful. I rather meant people that are depraved enough to take it ‘from’ them.
I agree with what Al says although its imporatnt to respect everything as being relative. Things are simply different now - not better, not worse; some people now have difficulties that cause them to take their own life rather than have someone else take it for them.
interesting post thx
I was in Poland on Monday, I went to see the camp at Auschwitz. It makes you see that the problems of today’s everyday life really don’t matter - we all have such an easy life in comparison!
Please check this streamed film we made about Beat Blue Monday
thanks
Aw great, my birthday is the most depressing day of the year.
Are there any published studies on the accuracy of the formula used in this campaign?
I had no idea that today was the most depressing day of the year until I read the paper on my way home from work. No wonder I’ve felt like crying all day!!
I’m going to be happy right through to May because Wisie’s white army are marching back into the Championship - the FA can stick that 15 point deduction where the sun don’t shine. Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Blue Monday or not, me and my housemates are signing the contract to our new house today and we couldn’t be happier :)!!
As most people at this time of the year, we are pretty skint for cash, annoyed by the horrible weather, finding it tough to stick to our New Years resolutions, and so on… but I having a plan (the housemove) and getting excited about it is taking our mind of everything else.
If you’re having a bad day and you share the above January issues, try this out: think of something that you have been wanting to do for a while, concentrate on the nice/exciting bits, and either do it today, or start taking the first steps towards it! January 21st won’t last long, but your plan/project and everything good about it will last you the entire year or even longer

Hellos
I just like to be sayings we have no such day in Vaimaanga. It is the pleasant day, little on the cloudys. But it is the 25 degrees so I can’t complain.
Hei Kone Rä
I feel great.
This is the worst day ever.
Thats right !!
Late for work. snow, cold, crashed my car, my boss is a jerk.
Life sux an there is nothing to do about it.
This day TOTALY SUX.
2008 sux.
Dette er verdens verste dag.
Det er virkelig sant. Alt begynte dårlig og alt går i dass.
Look at lots of pictures of sunflowers and blue skies on your PC instead of looking out the window at the grey, dank, sleety, rainy horrible weather. Grin at something you know about yourself that others don’t. Be happy ![]()
I hate mondays anyway.
A mathematical equation to calculate happiness?I would find it very unliable if I didn’t feel so sad..
Here in Yorkshire it has been raining heavily, there are numerous flood alerts, and everyone is coming into the office grumbling about their journey to work.
I believe in ‘pit stop pessimism’ - yes, we need to recognise when things are not good, but rather than be constantly depressed about the negative, like the Formula 1 car in a pit stop, take on board the bad and then get out again as quickly as possible and be positive about whatever life throws at you.
Have a great Blue Monday.
I lost my so called ‘friends’ yesterday, coincidence?
hey, tommorows gonna be a great day for me, im going to ipanema beach, haha suckers
i dont get it whats the problem with 21 january?
I am very optimistic that Liverpool will lose tomorrow making it a happy day for me. Unfortunaltey my girlfriend will not be happy, as she is a liverpool fan. She will be wanting to top herself when Agbonlahor scores a screamer infront of the Kop.
Part of the reason we can be feeling blue around this time of the year is that our heads and hearts are in a muddle. We’ve just made it out of the festive season when we are all supposed to have had fun, enjoyed the company of others, been generous in our giving and gracious in our receiving. We have been so busy trying to to fit in with what we think everyone else expects of us we lose touch with who we are.
Blue Monday is a great day to stand still for 5 minutes, breath deeply and turn back inside. Ask yourself “what really matters to me” think about the things that give you a sense of satisfaction, of achievement, of belonging, of worth - remind yourself how unique and special you are, resolve to be just that person for the rest of the day and recharge as your spirits lift. When you live life in harmony with your values the other stuff fades away!
I agreee, it certainly won’t be depressign for me because it’s my birthday so woohoo! So if anyone is feelign depressed, jsut think how much fun I will be having because it’s my brithday! (htough that might make you mroe depresswed).
Yay my brithday =]
It’s my birthday too!
It shouldnt be a depressing day ![]()
I’m having a party at lunch ![]()
As always, I will be looking forward to January 21st - the best day of the year, as it’s my birthday ![]()
The weather is always sunny, and in my opinion, you can’t beat a bright (albeit cold) sunny day for a walk out in the country. Whoever decided that the 21st January is the most depressing day of the year, in my opinion, has his calculations wrong!

Sadly, some depressions you cannot easily shake off.
One in five people in the UK experience depression and are not able to easily shrug off their problems. 'Blue Monday' is a chance for many people to overcome the more immediate side of life's downs, and use the opportunity to reflect on what makes us depressed, and what can be done to help and overcome the issues surrounding depression.
